Description

Electromagnetism is a core educational requirement for physicists, electrical engineers and many other scientific disciplines. Standard courses concentrate on fundamental concepts and analytic solutions. On the other hand, students will likely employ computer solutions when they enter professional life. The numerical approach is essential for systems with asymmetric geometries and complex materials. We developed Field Explore as a finite-element unit that can be incorporated into electromagnetism courses. It introduces essential techniques for successful numerical field calculations:

Field Explore is a fully-functioned version of our professional programs for 2D electrostatic and magnetostatic simulations. The software suite is freely available and may be distributed to students. The programs are optimized for Windows 10/11. They contain no advertisements and share no data on the Internet. There are mesh limits compared to our commercial programs, but the allotment is generous enough to support a wide variety of classroom and research projects.
